Every day I observe hundreds of pageviews though nothing to be so surprised about. This recipe is super easy and extremely tasty at the same time. A very delicate and creamy baked custard pudding. And the tranformation from a simple batter into three leyers is truely magical. So today I’ll share this magic custard cake recipe with wonderful flavor combo of coffee and chocolate. These two were matched in heaven! And I give my word that you’ll love this cake even more!

Mocha Magic Custard Cake 


  • 115 g melted butter
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 120 g flour
  • 220 g powdered sugar
  • 2 heaping tbsp dark cocoa powder 
  • 1/2 portion espresso (25-30 ml)
  • 600 g lukewarm milk


Preheat oven to 160°С. Butter and line with parchment paper 20 х 20 cm (8 x 8 inch) square pan.

Beat egg yolks with sugar, pour in melted butter and coffee and beat again.

Sift cocoa powder and flour into a separate bowl and mix to combine. Stir them into the batter. Accurately whisk in the milk.

Beat egg whites till stiff peaks and accurately in several stages fold into the batter.

Pour the batter into the pan and bake for about an hour. To check the cake simply tap the side of the pan. It should still wobble but not that liquid inside.

Let cool completely before slicing.
